A New Poem.

I have just finished a new poem. It is a revision or a part 2 of a Poem I had written back in my early college years when I as still a young and immature individual at times. This time around in part 2 it is a bit more focused on the actual topic of the poem and is more raw.

Beyond this, I am still working towards my goal of going freelance if ever so slowly. I know that I need to get moving a more blistering pace though and intend to do much work next week when I will home on my own for the better part of the week.

Here is an excerpt of the Poem "A Time In Life 2"

There comes a time, a time in life

When a person becomes lost, lost with despair

And everything that is done, is done in strife

Were you feel that nobody, nobody seems to care

And you can never get a grip, a tight grip

On the way things are, how they are to be

And there is hardly a soul, a soul with a tip

To give you freedom, freedom to see

Who you are, who it is that you seek

Where nothing ever seems, ever seems to be right

And you just feel, feel so damn weak

And even though you, you put up the good fight

And it just falls, falls short of the goal

And you are stuck, stuck in a prison

And it eats, eats away at your very soul

Robert Jordan's Death

I heard the news today on the radio that the death of one of my beloved authors occurred yesterday, Robert Jordan, Jame Rigney Jr. I was all to aware of the illness that he was fighting and that his eventual end might come sooner than expected. Yet, the actual shock of hearing about his death is still one that is reverberating through out my very core.

I first read the Eye of the World when I was a sophomore in high school and was immediately a fan forever. The size and scope of the overall story that was being written was absolutely breathtaking and mind blowing and it continued to amaze me with each book. It is because of stories and characters like those found in the work of Jordan that eventually make me decide that I too wished to create characters and stories of my own and put them into such grand circumstances as those found in Jordan's work.

His works have had a profound influence on me and he will be greatly missed.

Getting Serious...Once More

I will once again resume posting on this blog and begin to get serious about my writing. It is no longer a matter of when it is convenient for me to write now, but I must now write out of necessity.
