New Year, New Beginnings

There is something special about New Year's Eve and the coming of the New Year. That something special is the fact that the new year of life is upon them, while the past year is over. In many ways it is a completely blank slate to work with, to correct whatever the transgressions of the previous year right. It is the chance to once again pursue those goals that you were never able to achieve in the previous year. This is why people celebrate during New Year's Eve, reveling in the fact that that past is gone and a whole new future is open to them.

It is the reason why many set New Year Resolutions in an attempt to achieve a goal or set of goals that will bring improvement upon their lives during the course of the next year. Yet, I personally, have a greater appreciation for the next coming year then I have during the course of the past few years. The reason is that I finally feel that I will be able to escape the cage that I feel my life has been locked into during the course of the last three years while having to support my disabled mother. I feel finally that I will be able to escape this cage.

This will be through two means and are the two primary goals that I will reach by the end of this coming year. The first is one of the primary keys to escape that cage and that is to finally earn my degree from Marquette University. This key that was out of reach for me while being locked into that cage has now been handed to me through the friendly offer my good friend from high school's father. A contract and a bargain has been struck between the two of us that will lead me down the road of earning my degree finally.

The other key that will get me out from the cold steel of the rat ridden cage is the process of creating E.I.C. and get this business venture up and running. I already have begun work on many of the aspects for the business, but there will be many fine tweaks and a possible rethinking of many of the services being offered and a broadening of what I mean when I say Excellence in Communication.

So here's to the New Year, to New Beginnings, and to taking the steps to fulfilling dreams.
